New Zealand is widely regarded as one of the best & safest food sources in the world. An island nation with strict bio-security measures ensures that New Zealand is at very low risk of infectious disease and the safety of the food supply is one of the best in the world.
WILD-CAUGHT
We use locally caught fish from the Southern Oceans surrounding New Zealand, which are strictly managed to ensure sustainability. There are no added growth hormones or antibiotics in locally sourced meats, making New Zealand one of the cleanest food supply chains.
SUSTAINABLE FARMING
The farming process is overseen by strict government regulatory standards, which includes source traceability of raw materials, so you always know which farms the ingredients are coming from.
PROCESS
All of Providore’s premium dog & cat foods are made with gentle, minimal intervention processes to preserve natural nutrients, enzymes & antioxidants and deliver superior health benefits.
Cooked and more processed foods can be less nutritious containing lower levels of enzymes and antioxidants as the heat destroys more of the nutrition. Air-drying does not use high levels of heat, so the food provides similar benefits to feeding a raw diet without the mess.
Air-drying is a technique that has been used for centuries to naturally preserve meats. Our airdry ovens are set at low temperatures, slowly eliminating water particles from the mix, a process that inhibits the growth of bad bacteria, yeast and mould but preserves the naturally occurring nutrients and retains moisture for palatability. This results in a food that is almost as nutrient dense & digestible as a completely raw diet, but is clean & safe to handle.
